DIY tips to build a chicken coop
A different kind of a hobby is to raise chickens for eggs and meat! You can also get fertilizer for your garden. You can build a chicken coop yourself even if you are not a skilled carpenter.
To start with find a high spot to place your chicken coop. The size of the coop will depend on the number of chickens you want to have. Approximately each chicken requires about 8 to 10 square feet. You can make a sketch of your coop. keep the door large enough for you to be able to take out the eggs and also clean the coop. Find out what materials you need to build the coop.
Use scrap wood, plywood and even an old shed if you have one. You also need to have a nest box for the chicken to lay eggs. Per chicken would need 6 to 10 inches space in this case. If you need any additional material buy them from your local market. Make arrangements for fencing the yard where you keep the coop and feeders, straw and water.
