Learn to do your own pool repairing

Though everyone dream of having a swimming pool in their backyard, it is not easy to maintain. Moreover, repairing the same can be quite expensive if you hire a professional. If you want to save some of your hard-earned money here, you can learn to do your own pool repairing. If you have a vinyl-lined pool, a leaking swimming pool bottom is one of the most common problems that you are likely to face. This usually happens when the vinyl pool liner dries up, becomes brittle and becomes susceptible to cracks.

Once you have detected the place of leak, it can be fixed quite easily. All you have to do is buy a patching kit at your local pool store, which comprises of a piece of colored vinyl liner and plastic cement that works both underwater and above it. Next, cut a patch that is big enough to cover the hole and sandpaper its back before lining it with cement and placing it over the hole. Release any air bubbles and let the patching cement set.
