Tips to decorate small bathrooms

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

You can make your small bathroom both look and feel larger by following some simple décor tips. The most basic trick that you can use to eliminate the feeling of cramped space in your bathroom is by painting it in a pale or soft color shade. This gives the feeling of openness and creates an illusion of more square footage. You can also achieve the effect of ‘pushed back walls’ by selecting an apt wall paint finish. Complement it with light colored floor tiles.

You can also brighten up your bathroom by having a large window to allow natural light to enter the space. In addition to that, you can install recessed can lighting, wall sconces or a countertop lamp in your bathroom. Select a delicate pedestal sink and a wall mounted mirror instead of a large vanity cabinet to save floor space. You can also use large mirrors to create an illusion of space in the bathroom.
